Scientific Description:

Stems solitary or numerous, ascending to erect, 2−22 cm. Leaves spathulate to lanceolate to obovate, entire or dentate, with an indumentum of simple or forked hairs, or both. Siliculae oblanceolate or elliptic. Petals white, deeply emarginate, 2−4(−5) mm. Siliculae flattened, orbicular to narrowly elliptic to linear-elliptic 4−10(−11) × 2−3 mm, many seeded. Seeds 0.3−0.5 mm.

 

Flowering time: March−April.

Habitat: Maquis, stony slopes, grassy places, s.l.−1300 m.

Public Description:

Draba verna, common name “spring draba”, “shadflower”, is found in western United States, North Africa, temperate Asia, and most of Europe, including Britain. It is a tiny annual plant with white flowers which is less than 22 cm in length. It can be seen in flower in maquis, stony slopes and grassy places between March and April.
