Lithocharis nigriceps (Kraatz, 1859) 
One of many fast, almost continually moving Staphylinids, which just never seem to stop still long enough to even attempt to photograph successfully (hence us unusually showing two 'in the pot' photographs. There are two recent Nottinghamshire records, one from Nottingham Trent University's Brackenhurst Campus in 2016 (Heeney, W.) and most recently from Sherwood Forest CP, where two were extracted from old straw bales in ealy 2020.
