Melasis buprestoides (Linnaeus, 1761)
Restricted in Nottinghamshire to both the Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park areas, where in hot sunny weather, it can sometimes be found around distressed and dying trees. This one was captured as it landed on an Oak which had been recently 'veteranised', the same tree also being visited by the Jewel Beetle Agrilus biguttatus at the time (mid-June 2022).
