There
are seven species of Rugilus
known from the UK and several are known to occur in Nottinghamshire. All
are visually similar, so identification from photographs is fraught with
difficulty. This Rugilus erichsonii was found in a sample of
old woodchippings, taken from Boughton Brake in early November 2020.
Seemingly uncommon in the county, it is also known from Clumber Park,
which has seen a number of recent records. |
