Falconiformes: Jodi
Examples of Order:
- Falcons, Hawks, Eagle, Ospreys,vultures, secretary birds, and falcons
Habitat:
- They live in a variety of habitats including deserts, tundra, grassland, wetland, and forests
- They are found in all parts of the world except Antarctica
What they eat:
- insects, birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and carrison
- They eat any animals that are alive or dead
Method of eating:
- They use their sharp beak to hook their prey instead of talons ( curved claws)
Physical Characteristics:
- They have excellent eyesight that are able to see better than human
- Their feathers are mostly grey, brown, and black.
Behaviour:
- Their calls are often high-pitched
- At migration time, huge flocks of falconiformes or raptors journey north and south together
- Most of them make simple nest on the ground, but some hawks and eagles build large nesting platforms that can be several feet high
- Males hunts for food while female sit on the nest most of the time

- They have many bristles (stiff feathers) around their beaks that may protect their eyes while feeding or help them feel the prey they have caught
