Phaeomyiidae
General description:
Small to moderately long flies (3.0-11.0 mm) with yellowish brown to
brown body colour and brownish infuscated wings. Closely related to
Sciomyzidae but differing in presence of medial bristles on middle and
hind tibiae, in number of spermathecae in females and biology of larvae. (Rozkošný 1998)
Biology:
Larvae of Pelidnoptera nigripennis live as parasitoids of millipedes
