Treating Green Ears
Last week I got a new Silkie that had the beginning of green ears. So the first thing that I did was removing the earrings.
When you remove the earrings the green wont spread any further.
I went searching on the Internet to find a way to remove these green spots. I came across so many horrible pictures from green ears that I realized that I was lucky that I noticed it in time and I decided to remove the earrings from all my ladies.

The green on my Silkie wasn’t so big but it did bother me. Only I couldn’t find a special treatment for removing these spots on a Silkstone dolls. I did find a lot of homemade recipes that had to work on vintage dolls but I was afraid of using this because the vinyl of a Silkstone head is harder.
Then I found this website http://www.twinpines.com. They sell this product called Remove-zit. And in my research a lot of people had so many good results with this product so I decided to give it a try. I still didn’t knew if it would work on a Silkstone but it seem to be the most safe option.
First I did a test. Normally you do this on the body of a doll but because the material of a Silkstone body is different then the head this was not an option. I didn’t want to put it on my City Smart right away. So I put some on the back of the head of a deboxed Silkie that I bought for rerooting. And after a day I removed it and everything was ok. I still didn’t knew if the product worked but I didn’t leave any stains.
So I took my City Smart and put some toilet paper around her head to protect her hair and the rest of her face.
I heated her head with a hairdryer (just a few seconds and not to warm) and applied some of the product on the green spots.
After a day I removed the Remove-zit and it worked !!!
The green is almost disappeared. I’m treating her now for the second time and I also started on the other side. I think it’s a great product. And it does work on Silkstone material. The only thing is that you have to watch out when you put it on the face. You don’t want it to touch the face paint because it will remove the make-up of your ladies. I also bought 9-1-1- formula from Twin Pines. With this product you have to clean the area that you treated when you’re done. This will stop the chemical reaction of the Remove-zit.
