Jean-Luc Godard (1930-2022) was a French-Swiss film director, screenwriter, and film critic. He rose to prominence as a pioneer of the 1960s French New Wave film movement and was arguably the most influential French filmmaker of the post-war era. Known for his unique approach to the medium, Godard consistently created films that challenged expectations and explored new possibilities of cinema, in both content and form.
In honor of his legacy, this guide celebrates Godard's work. The following pages are a selection of Godard's cinema, books and screen plays available here at Booth Library.
