&Fest – Focus Gent: ONE SONG

According to the New York Times, ONE SONG: Histoire(s) du Théâtre IV is one of the best productions of 2022, and it elicited a massive ovation at the Festival d'Avignon. The work is equal parts a dance marathon, a competition, and a festival. It is a wild and touching metaphor for the vicissitudes of life, and subtly tackles farewells, life and death, hope and rebirth.

ONE SONG is a part of Dutch - Belgian theatre NTGent's Histoire(s) du Théâtre IV series that features invited directors’ works recounting their personal stories as theatre practitioners. Miet Warlop is a Belgian director and performing arts practitioner whose visually captivating multidisciplinary work is world-renowned. She challenges theatrical traditions, mixing different arts disciplines with unexpected and atypical topics.
