Gerhardt H. Gamradt

Gerhard H. Gamradt, 85, of Sauk Centre, died on Friday, May 26, 2000, at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose from complications of Parkinson's disease.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 29, at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. R. E. Bloemker officiated with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.

Gerhard Gamradt was born October 3, 1914 in Sauk Centre to Emil and Minnie (Jacobs) Gamradt. He married Edith Farrow on May 12, 1942, at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. He farmed in Melrose Township, Stearns County, before retiring in 1980 and moving to Sauk Centre. He continued to help at the farm until 1993. Since March of 1996 he had been a resident of Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sauk Centre Seniors, Sauk Centre Coop Creamery and the Farmer's Union. He also participated in several bowling leagues and dart ball league at Zion Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Gamradt of Sauk Centre; eight children, Norma Karasch and her husband, Ray; David Gamradt and his wife, Sharon, Allen Gamradt and his wife, Judy; Linda Kohorst; Sandy Zehrer and her husband, Tom; Jim Gamradt and his wife, Brenda; Mike Gamradt and his wife, Boni, all of Sauk Centre; Julie Gamradt and her husband, Randy Reuter of Barneveld, Wisconsin' 22 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Doris Klosner and her husband, Lawrence, of Cloquet; two brothers, Delbert Gamradt and his wife, Emily; and Harry Gamradt, all of Sauk Centre.

He was preceded in death by infant son, Gary and brother, Raymond Gamradt.

Pallbearers were John, Ronald, Lyle, Bob and Kenny Gamradt and Ed Weispgenng.

Honorary pallbearers were LeRoy Johnson, Donavon Hansen, Hubert Zirbes, Elmer and Ray VonWahlde, Ralph Middendorf, Norbert and Robert Wessel, Paul Borgerding, Walt Rehkamp, Harold Bossardt and the nurses and staff of Pine Haven and Pine Villa Care Center.

Arrangements were made with Patton-Shad Funeral Service, Sauk Centre.
