September 20, 1941 - March 14, 2018
For our Big Girl, Dinana Banana, “My Diane”…her house was always open to family, friends and strangers alike…she loved quilting, cooking, baking, reading (alone and to kids), and solving mysteries before the end…she collected crocks, wooden shoes and anything she could find on the beach…she traveled the world from Egypt to Holland to the Philippines…as a Navy wife, she raised her family in Texas, Maryland, Egypt, Illinois, California and Utah…she was always up for an adventure or just a quiet evening on the front porch…she loved root beer floats and fresh peach milkshakes…she had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh, even during tough times…she excelled at most things she tried, especially caring for others.
You will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know you.
On March 14th, Diane Alice d’Hulst Montague was reunited with her sweetheart, Monte. Born to Peter d’Hulst and Adriana Westbroek, Diane was a proud first generation Dutch girl. Raised in Ogden, Utah, she graduated from Ogden High School, class of ’59.
She married Monte Ellis Montague on Sept. 30, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised five children.
Diane was faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served joyfully in many church callings and especially delighted in serving two full time missions (San Pablo, Philippines and Salt Lake City Family History Center).
She is survived by her children Mike Montague, Jennifer (Kevin) Kozak, Jeff (Tammy) Montague, Karen (John) Montague, Amanda (Ken) Blakely; brothers Peter (Nancy) d’Hulst, David (Judy) d’Hulst, sister Sandy (Wayne) Summerill; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Monte and brother Daniel d’Hulst.
A viewing will be held Sunday, March 18th 2018 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 6 - 8 pm and Monday, March 19th from 9:45 - 10:45 am followed by the funeral service at 11 am at the Mt. Ogden Ward, 1314 27th St., Ogden.
In lieu of flowers, please do something fun with your family and think of Diane.
