SUMMARY
Anamorph: Phoma-like. Conidiomata 240-320 µm diam., depressed-globose, papillate, thin-walled. Conidiophores absent. Conidiogenous cells formed from the inner layer of the conidiomata wall. Conidia 5-6.5 x 1.5-2.5 µm, cylindrical, aseptate, hyaline, biguttulate.
Teleomorph: ascostromata perithecia, 360-420 µm diam; densely grouped, at first covered by the epidermis, later bursting it and becoming superficial, oblate to spherical or conical-globose, black, shining, with sparse dark brown basal hyphae. Peridium very thick (60-120 µm), composed of large ± globose cells with thick dark brown walls. Interascal tissue of cellular pseudoparaphyses. Asci 100-125 x 8-10 µm, numerous, cylindrical, shortly stalked, thick-walled and fissitunicate, 8-spored. Ascospores obliquely uniseriate, 18.5-21 x 5-6 (-7) µm, fusiform, 3-septate, constricted at the middle, second cell from the apex slightly enlarged, yellowish brown, fairly thick-walled, smooth, without an epispore, gelatinous sheath or appendages.
