Marcel Andry

Marcel Andry

Marcel Andry is in his first season as defensive line coach for the Nicholls State University football program.

A two-year letterman for the Colonels, Andry helped the staff last season as a defensive assistant, working primarily with the defensive line.

In 2018, the Colonel defensive line anchored an impressive rush defense that ended the season at the top in the Southland Conference. Led by three-time All-SLC defensive tackle Sully Laiche, Nicholls allowed only 105.4 rushing yards per game, ranking 11th in the FCS. The line was also key in applying pressure on the opposing offenses as the Colonels finished seventh in the nation in tackles for loss and 12th in sacks.

Andry started his collegiate playing career in 2015 at East Mississippi Community College before joining the Colonels in ‘16. In his senior season at Nicholls, he totaled 32 tackles with 6.5 for loss and ranked eighth in the Southland with 5.5 sacks. He posted a career game in the win over HBU with six tackles and a safety.

A native of New Orleans, Andry played at St. Augustine where he was all-state honorable mention for the Purple Knights.

Andry received his bachelor’s from Nicholls in December of 2018.
