Alsobia 'Cygnet' - Live Plant 4"

We offer established Alsobia plants for sale in 4" nursery pots. Their blooms only last a few days, but they do bloom frequently with the right care. If we have one in bloom, we will ship it first. From the first days of November through end of Februrary the Alsobia has a dormant period and typically does not bloom.

Care Instructions:

Sunlight: Alsobia thrives in moderate to bright, indirect light. A north or east-facing window is ideal, as it provides plenty of light without the harshness of direct sunlight. Avoid placing Alsobia in direct sunlight, which can cause leaf burn.
Watering: Water Alsobia when the top inch of soil feels dry. Ensure the soil remains evenly moist but not soggy. During the winter months, reduce watering to prevent waterlogging, as the plant's growth slows down.
Fertilization:  Feed Alsobia with a balanced, liquid fertilizer every four weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Use a half-strength solution to avoid over-fertilizing, which can lead to nutrient burn. Do not fertilize in the winter when the plant's growth is dormant.
Temperature & Humidity: Alsobia prefers a warm environment with temperatures between 60-75°F (16-24°C). It is sensitive to cold drafts and sudden temperature changes. High humidity levels are beneficial for Alsobia. If your home is dry, especially in winter, use a humidity tray or a room humidifier to maintain adequate humidity.

Additional Tips:

- Alsobia is a relatively low-maintenance plant that can be grown as a trailing vine or allowed to spread over the surface as a ground cover.
- Regularly trim any dead or yellowing leaves to keep the plant healthy and attractive.
- Check periodically for pests like spider mites or mealybugs, which can be treated with insecticidal soap or neem oil.

Cold Weather Shipping: If your area is experiencing cold weather, make sure to order 'heat packs' and 'packing insulation' to reduce the risk of damage to your plants.  We cannot guarantee the plants if damaged by weather or carrier mishandling of the package.  If you have concerns about the condition of your plants on arrival, please take pictures of the package and plants and contact us within 24 hours of delivery.
