The installation is situated in the w.c. of the old Arsakeio School of the city of Patra (Greece). The Arsakeio was a leading educational institution of the bourgeois class of modern Greece with highly conservative ideas and emphasis on the religious life of the young students. Through the pipe lines of the w.c. one can listen to young students’ poems during a national fest. We used recorded material from old school ceremonies situated in another Arsakeio School. A young girl wishes to achieve glorious death during the war and praises the Lord.

Site-specific ηχο-εγκατάσταση, έκθεση What Remains is Future, Πάτρα, 2006

Ένα ηχοσύστημα έχει τοποθετηθεί εντός των υδρορροών που βρίσκονται στους τουαλέτες του παλιού Αρσακείου της Πάτρας. Πάνω στα καζανάκια έχουν τυπωθεί τρεις λατινικές λέξεις που βρίσκονται με αλφαβητική σειρά στο λεξικό: coitus, colaphus, colax (συνουσία, χαστούκι, κολακεία) – ίσως, ο μικρόκοσμος της συντηρητικής αστικής εκπαιδευτικής πραγματικότητας. Μέσα από τους σωλήνες ακούγεται ηχογραφημένο υλικό από σχολική γιορτή εθνικής επετείου, αντλημένο από άλλο Αρσάκειο. Ένα μικρό κορίτσι απαγγέλει: “Τετρακόσια χρόνια πικρής σκλαβιάς. Τετρακόσια χρόνια η Παναγιά μας ευαγγελίζεται στα κρυφά από τον φόβο των τυράννων.”
