A visual treat with a few issues...
One of my main concers was that the whole plot revolved around a girl's first love with a middle aged guy when she was a toddler, it was a bit off putting that they tried to romanticize such a thing but im not surprised since Hollywood loves pedophilic and infantilizing themes revolving around women.
What I also disliked was the movie being in English, it didn't really help the audience truly capture the essence of the Geisha life.

Recomendaría esta película por sus visuales, vestuario y maquillaje hermosos, y la actuación de las chicas fue hermosa aunque fue una rara desición de casting ya que mezclaron culturas que nada que ver con Japón, por lo tanto no es históricamente correcta para nada y es una falta de respeto para las geishas de verdad. Film intéressant, mais pas sur que ce soit très représentatif de la vie d’une geisha dans les années 1940.
Le film donne quand même envie de se mettre de la poudre blanche sur le visage , avec une touche de rouge à lèvre et … euh … fin… film sympa quoi … 😳 -
medio turbio la relación de el presidente y ella pero la historia increible, supongo que es la Geisha tradicional para así no tener tantas criticas duras. Me gusto mucho aún así. 9/10
