Abstract
Bamboos are monocotyledons and belong to Bambusoideae, Poaceae, Poales. There are two major types of bamboos based on the habit, i.e., woody bamboos with lignified stems and herbaceous bamboos mainly distributed in Latin America. The vegetative organs of bamboos are very diverse, including roots, rhizomes, culms, buds, branches, prophylls, vegetative leaves, and culm leaves. Reproductive organs consist of flowers, caryopses, and seeds.
