Micropera is a monopodial, epiphytic genus with 20 species distributed from Himalaya across southeast Asia to the Pacific Islands. Plants are medium size to large. Stems are terete, leaves oblong or linear, alternating. Inflorescence is axillary, simple or branched, with several flowers in pink, yellow or cream, marked with purple at the tips of the sepals. Some species, for example, Micr. rostrata which is purplish pink are quite pretty but they are rarely found in collections.
