Abstract
The accuracy of approach to various brain structures by the stereotaxic method has induced some authors to do biopsy samplings (Housepian and Pool 1960–1962, Jinnai et al. 1961, Heath et al. 1961, Kalyanaraman and Gillingham 1964). Most of the techniques involve samplings by suction through a trocar (Housepian and Pool 1960–1962, Kalyanaraman and Gillingham 1964). A Silverman needle is more rarely used (Heath et al. 1961).
