Abstract

Geotrichosis is a world-wide mycosis caused by Geotrichum candidum. The oral, bronchial and bronchopulmonary geotrichoses are endogenous in origin and have little tendency to hematogenous dissemination. The cutaneous geotrichoses are mostly exogenous in origin, limited to the skin, chronic, occur in superficial and deep forms, and sometimes are accompanied by allergic skin reactions in the form of geotrichids. Mycetemia without lesions in the organs, ulcerative keratitides, and a mycetoma have been observed.
