BBQ Grill Outlet

this is less a review than an apology.

I will wax ad nauseam about shopping local but since Covid, I've gotten overly comfortable buying things I can't live without with a couple of keystrokes.

Friday afternoon the day before an extended family BBQ, I needed hardwood chunks for the grill and pellets for the smoker. I was on my way home from Costco Business with Tomahawks (sous vide and finished on the grill) and a Mishima Reserve Wagyu Beef Brisket (worth the drive to San Marcos, right?).

the sixteen to eighteen hour smoke wouldn't wait the day it takes for Amazon Prime to magically appear on my front porch and (fortunately) had to move to Plan B.

the BBQ Grill Outlet is just off the 78 in Oceanside. I've probably driven past this place a million times, and it was about damn time I stopped by and checked 'em out. so VERY glad I did. great selection. great prices. great service.

This place has incredible service and a great selection! I went in to browse and was helped by Matt. He was beyond friendly and knowledgeable. He walked me through every grill and the pros/cons of each. There was zero pressure to pick the most expensive one. Once we picked out all the equipment, he designed the kitchen frame for me from start to finish. I ended up doing multiple revisions over a few weeks and I never felt like a bother. He was creative in his design and his communication was on point. Day of install was fantastic as well with Jose and Nick. These guys were friendly, accommodating and did quality work.
They gave their opinion on where to place the kitchen and gave some design tips for when I install the granite.
Everyone at BBQ grill outlet was fantastic. I will never buy BBQ stuff from anywhere else.

We had our new Firemagic Echelon installed today. Jose and Nick, the installers were great as this was the hottest day on record. They even fixed the door that opens to the island as it was uneven.
Nick Elliott Senior designer was very knowledgeable and professional. Best customer service at this store!! Thanks again.

Ive gone back to see Greg at BBQ Grill twice now because of how awesome they were the first time around. Im a grill novice and asked a ton of questions and I NEVER leave reviews but when someone helps me understand my purchase in a way that doesnt make me feel stupid plus get me set up with a the right product in an honest way Im a happy customer and will keep coming back. This place does not act like a big box store and you will get the attention you want and they have a huge selection.

From John Ryon who guided us through the BBQ design to Tim Hopper who scheduled every aspect of the installation. Our project was completed, start to finish, on schedule.

The frame install was executed by Leonel and Christian. The tiling was expertly installed by Gustavo and Leo. The appliances were installed by Jose and Nick.

All stages of our project, from design, manufacturing, install, tiling and install of the appliances was done with care and respect of our property. Cleanup was impeccable.

I must have got them on a bad day. I was trying to buy a replacement pizza stone/heat deflector for my Primo as I dropped my stone and broke it. Victor was the rep I was talking with and he was about as useful as a fork in a soup eating contest.

I explained I broke my stone, he told me they didn't have them and I should go on Amazon or online and get exactly what I need. I thought this was weird, wouldn't you want to offer your customer to order it for them? And get them back in the store? Maybe I would have bought something else...more charcoal? Some other accessories...but I digress.

I asked if something else in the store would work, as I need it sooner than later and I just need the stone part. I saw the green egg had a pizza stone, kamado joe too. He wasn't sure the size of my old stone, nor was I. I tried looking online on my phone when I was there with Victor, but I couldn't find it. I should have measured my old one. However, I was in the area and I stopped in thinking the BBQ Outlet would probably have this info since I bought my primo grill and my original deflector/pizza stone from them originally. I asked if I could compare the Kamado Joe stone to the Primo grill they had on display. He told me no, he can't open the box. I also thought this was kinda weird, it's not like the box was sealed with special tape. I questioned his service, telling him that I'm trying to buy something from him to solve my problem, but he didn't really care. Told me he can't open the boxes and can't take returns on open boxes. I was frustrated with Victor and his lack of service so I left.

When I got home, I measured by broken stone it was 15", same as the kamado joe stone that I was looking at. So I took Victor's advice, went on Amazon found what I needed and I should have it in a few days.

All of the other times I have been into the store, the reps have always been helpful. But if they are not, just go online and get what you need.

Just bought first Smoker. Super deal. Great prices. Ready to Go out the Door

This is the best place in SD County to build your BBQ kitchen. Greg took the time to guide me through all the choice for gas grills, island accessories, and even helped me choose the right Kamado grill. Yes I had many questions and changed my mind more times than I care to admit. Greg had the patience to get me through it and all without pressuring me to make a decision quickly.
