I love this bakery, because it is a getaway to France in Forest Hills. It's french, it's cozy and it's delicious! Everything here tastes good. I come here for croissants, baguette and my favorite almond croissants.
On warmer days it's nice to use the outdoor seating. Inside is also cute and cozy.
My only recommendation is to improve the customer service. The service is always slow and they always make mistakes. The coffee quality has also gone down, but otherwise love it and will be coming back always!Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 0Apr 29, 2020Previous reviewThis is my favorite bakery in the whole New York! Their food is so delicious, especially the croissants! Staff is always friendly and welcoming. I always feel great when I visit the bakery thanks to friendliness of the staff. Even bow considering the tough timed during this epidemic, they ate doing such a great job ensuring customer safety but also good experience!

Pros:
+ Decent variety of food options
+ Pistachio ecclair was amazing
Cons:
- Taste is just mediocre for how much you are paying.
- One large table in the center is a bit awkward for seating
- Difficult to find entrance
- Flourless chocolate cake was a bit stale and lacked flavor.

I placed an order for 2 oatmilk and whole milk cappuccinos. Waited 10 minutes in front of the barista for my coffees until I asked her how far I am in the order queue. She replied "oh you needed to tell me when you hear to start making them". Sigh.
I told her I got errands to do I'll be back for it.
I left the spot and call them directly to cancel it since I didn't want to go back but NOBODY picked up that phone. What kind of establishment doesn't pick up the phone?!
Since I couldn't cancel I had to go back and get the coffees. I got them incomplete. With no cinnamon like I requested and the cups were not even labeled as which one is which.
I'm done with this place. I'll take my business to Leidylicious going fwd.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 5, 2023
The crepes are so delicious here! My favorite is the sausage (lamb), egg and cheese crepe. Gotta have it right away while it's hot. The crepe is fluffy and buttery. It takes about 10 minutes to make fresh. It also depends on how long the line is. There's a longer wait during prime eating time.
The baguettes are very very good also. Have to get one to go. You can get it in half or whole. It's so soft day of, then toast after that. Their strawberry cheesecake is phenomenal. Nice, fluffy and not too sweet. They have it as a whole cake or slices.
I like the chai latte and have it with oat milk. If eating in, it comes in a small bowl.
They have 1 long communal table and 3 small tables for people to eat in. It might be full during prime eating time. This place is popular.Helpful 0Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 1 - 384115511094Nov 18, 2023
This place was so good.
I'm in the area a lot and I'm glad I found this spot.
I stopped here for breakfast. There was a line out the door and every seat was taken inside and out. By the time I got my food and drink a spot opened up outside thankfully.
I had a pear juice and a scone. The coffee line was separate than the bakery line and was even longer.
The scone was fresh and flavorful. I'd love to come back here and try more of their options.
There were other breakfast options available; their coffee smelled very fresh too.
This place was very cozy and relaxed. The outdoor seating area was well decorated and comfortable too.
I can't wait to come back soon to try more of their drinks and food options.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - 136168467Apr 1, 2024
I went to try it after an early workout class. There was a line out the door to enter to enter. It should be noted that it was Good Friday. I decided to eat inside which is an open seating style. I ordered at the counter first and then took an empty seat. I ordered a quiche with spinach that was accompanied by a side salad. I ordered a piece of baguette on the side along with a cappuccino. Everything was delicious. The baguette was so soft and flavorful. I wanted to order a who baguette to eat on my walk home. The place is cozy, there were board games available for use. Everything smelled really good. The woman who checked me out in the counter recommended a puff pastry and gave me a disclaimer it was small. I ordered one for later. I do not remember the name of it but yum! It was a small bite size puff. Delicious. I will be returning to order some loaves of bread and the French onion soup that was highly recommended.

La Boulangerie is a staple in Forest Hills. The quaint, all-wood interior and French baked goods are a vibe and I love taking friends here because it's slightly off the main/Austin street.
I got a delicious batard here and the service and pricing were great. There always seems to be a line at the counter because they're that popular, any day of the week. I heard they serve crepes in the summer but I don't know if my intel is outdated. Check it out for some French cafe food!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Jeff Y.Torrance, CA1834614Mar 10, 2024Updated review
What the hell happened? I haven't been back in a few years and the croissants looks/tastes have lowered in quality. I can get this kind of croissant anywhere. Not worth it anymore. I'm so sad.
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Sep 15, 2012Previous reviewThe most beautiful buttery flaky croissant goodness I've had on this side of the Atlantic ocean. Pull at the ends of their croissant and watch the love unfurl. Get a small latte and your mornings will never be the same again. Not to be missed for any bakery lover in the 5 boroughs.

Incredible.
The croissants were delicious - fresh and buttery.
I'm still thinking of the brioche buns.
The lattes were perfectly made.
Customer service is excellent - lightning fast and yet attentive.
The seating area is clean and neat.
They have an array of delicious looking pastries.
I'd love to go back.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
