Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Is Returning to His WrestleMania Roots in April: The 'People's Champ Is Coming Home'

It still isn’t over!

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may be a major movie star, but the actor still hasn’t left his wrestling past behind.

The new father announced on Instagram Monday that he will return to WrestleMania in Dallas, Texas, this coming spring.

“IT’S OFFICIAL: People’s Champ is coming home to do 3 things with THE PEOPLE: Set an ALL-TIME attendance record, ELECTRIFY Dallas like never before & make all time #WRESTLEMANIA history,” he wrote alongside a video of his in-the-ring highlights. “And we have FUN.”

Johnson, 43, started his career in professional wrestling, and appeared as part of the World Wrestling Federation from 1996 to 2004. He regularly returns to the showcase series to the surprise and delight of his fans.

“THANK YOU #WWEUniverse,” Johnson wrote. “It’s always an honor coming home and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. #PeoplesChamp4L #MakingElectrifyingHistory #SmackethLaidDownOnThyCandyAsses.”

Johnson recently revealed in his Oprah’s Master Class special that he suffered from depression after being cut from the Canadian Football League 20 years ago, but his decision to follow in the footsteps of his family and become a professional wrestler helped get his life back on track.

WrestleMania 32 will be held at AT&T Stadium on April 3, and is expected to draw the largest crowd in its history, according to WWE.com.

Johnson just welcomed his first child with girlfriend Lauren Hashian earlier this month. Jasmine has an older sister, 14-year-old Simone, Johnson’s daughter with ex-wife Dany Garcia.
