Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Mark now resides in Austrailia. He started off by playing live games with his friends before making the move to online play.
His first notable cash was at the 2006 Aussie Millions in 8th place for $61,271. Then June that year taking another $48,956 for a second place result at the Rendez Vous a Paris followed up with another second place for $48,874 at the Grosvenor World Masters in London. July that year he won his WSOP bracelet for taking down the $2,000 No Limit Hold'em event and a $803,274 pay day.
Mark plays a lot online and is well known for using a short stack technique of buying in for smaller amounts. Using a hit and run strategy he has been using it to good effect and has won over $2.1m.
