Iris root, one of the most revered and luxurious essences in perfumery, is adorned with sweet and creamy notes of superior grade ylang ylang from Comoros, mimosa, and tropical frangipani absolute. The accord is brightened with the essence of geranium, laced with a touch of jasmine, and warmed with comforting notes of sandalwood, cedar, tonka bean, and vanilla.
THE IRIS ROOT
Orris root is one of the most luxurious and expensive materials on earth. Its multi-faceted scent (earthy, powdery, woody, rooty, and sweet) only reveals itself after the iris rhizome (root) has been harvested and matured for no less than 3 years. Once processed, a ton of orris root only makes about two kilograms of butter needed to make perfume — which is why it can cost about three and a half times the price of gold.
