.ini performance tweaks
Go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\White Gold\INI. We will be looking at two files - VIDEOOPTIONS.INI and ENGINESETTINGS.INI.

The framerate difference between options High and Very High from the game's main menu is very big, at least for me. Running on High settings I am getting 120 FPS, but Very High goes as low as 40 FPS. The only difference in graphics between these two modes are shadows resolutions and grass/trees/objects LOD.

The settings below are values I changed in each .ini file that work well for me (a compromise between High and Very High options).

ENGINESETTINGS.INI
;Detail objects (grass) display radius; float, [0...1]; 0 - disbled; 1 - 40 metters; Reccomended 0.375 (15m) for release GrassRadius=0.625000 ;Disable dynamic objects simplification by removing instances; Count of dynamic objects decrease depending on distance.; This can lead to visibe pop of objects when approaching large detail objects models.; Disabling will lead to huge performance loss.; 0 - Enable; 1 - Disable; Should be 0 for release. DETAIL_OBJECTS_DISABLE_POPUP=1 ;Moving objects(characters, vechicles) LOD; float, [0...1]; 0 - min, 1 - max detail; Recommended 0.5; Controlled from video options menu OBJECTS_LOD=0.750000 ; Static objects (trees) LOD; float, [0...1]; 0 - min, 1 - max detail; Recommended 0.5; Controlled from video options menu LODMESH_LOD=0.500000

VIDEOOPTIONS.INI
SHADOWMAP_SIZE=4096 ALLOW_TRANSPARENCY_AA=1 QUALITY=3

Of course you should give it a go and find the best options that will work for you. Option GrassRadius has the biggest impact on the performance (Very High option has it set to 1.0).

NVIDIA SLI
If you're going to play Xenus 2 on machine capable of SLI gaming, you might want to use that in Xenus 2 for better framerates. Oficially, the game does not support SLI. But the game works perfect with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat profile.

To do so, you need to download NVIDIA Inspector, for example, from here[www.majorgeeks.com].

After unpacking the tool, you need to run nvidiaProfileInspector.exe.

There from the drop down menu next to "Profiles: " you need to find S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Then you need to add xenus.exe to the said profile using button marked on the image below in red circle.

If NVIDIA Inspector says that xenus.exe is already bound to a different profile (Xenus 2 could already have profile in NVIDIA drivers), you'll need to find it and remove the .exe from it or remove the profile completely.
FOV
Simply go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\White Gold\INI and open GAME.INI in any text editor. Scroll down to [Planet_Clip_Distances] section.

Change value of STANDARD_FOV to your preferred value.

Before (default FOV):

After (FOV 90.0):

Terrible English voices
The English voices in Xenus 2 are very horrible without a doubt. I highly recommend playing the game with original Russian voices which you can get here.
Skipping intros
Simply go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\White Gold\INI and open GAME.INI in any text editor. Then you just have to comment out or remove the VIDEO0, VIDEO1 and VIDEO2 lines.

Before:

After:

Unable to zoom in using sniper rifle/binoculars/camera
Disable MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner Statistics Server.
Not hitting 100% GPU usage?
Xenus 2 isn't the best optimized game that's for sure. If you're running it on high end system like me you'll still get low FPS and your GPU won't hit propably even 50% of it's usage. But how can you easily get a bit better graphics and rack up the GPU usage?

You can try downscaling using GeDoSaTo tool, which will make game render in higher resolution then downscale it to your monitor's. If your GPU is not maxing out during Xenus 2, you can go ahead and try it out, my FPSes do not drop when I am going from 1440p to 2800p and beyond.

In order for cursor to work properly in menus and game UI, you'll need to use following preset.

modifyGetCursorPos true modifySetCursorPos true interceptWindowProc true adjustMessagePt true modifyGetClientRect true modifyGetWindowRect true

1440p is 2x more pixels than 1080p, why anyone would get a 1440p monitor is beyond me, and 4k is just criminal

i use the high preset and your ini edit, game still can go into the low 45's even on a GTX 1080 / 3700X system at 2560x1440p 120hz monitor

Hello! I get this error while trying to go to sea "OVERFLOOD IN netmsgVehicleAttached! Send save\VehicleAttachedOverflood.bin to developer". Maybe somebody knows how to fix it? Im on the main quest to collect statues now, but I suppose this thing happens because after completing one of the Mafia quests where you have to get through patrols of Guerillas on a yacht and even after completing it game didnt stop spawning these patrols on the sea. Can somebody help cause im already 20+ hours into the game and really dont want to restart it all.

"There is also an entry for MechanicalFOV in the GAME.INI , I'm wondering if what that is for? Perhaps for when inside a vehicle and the cone width of the view, since it is probably 3rd person. I'll try changing it when I find a vehicle. Hmm."
In Xenus boling point, in vehicle we have a fisrt pirson mode

I don't know how you get 120 fps in high settings. Even at high settings i get frame drops with an i7 6700k @4.6ghz, 32g 3600mhz cl16 of memory, and a GTX 1080ti OC....this is insane. I tried your tweak (thanks by the way) and it works pretty well except that i have to set the grass radius to 355000, otherwise i get frame drops as low as 40 fps.

This is great. Thanks! Can you also tell me if there is a silencer for weapons or not? Or any other weapon mods like scopes?
