Book of Genesis is an active item added in the initial release of Retribution.

Effects

• On use, grants a Black Heart.
• While held, all damage Isaac takes is doubled.
  • This causes damage that removes half a heart from the health bar to remove a full heart, and full hearts of damage to remove two hearts, etc.

Interactions

Bookmark: Book of Genesis can effectively be used once every room. However, the amount of extra damage Isaac takes is increased, scaling with Bookmark's trinket multiplier.
