Paris, France — The cult Bronx-based house of fine perfume making, Society of Scent, has just opened a boutique in the fun and trendy Vertbois neighborhood of Paris. Founded in 2018 by four partners headed up by master perfume maker Jean Claude Delville, the house develops its uni-sex fragrances in its laboratory workshop in the Bronx. The house’s high perfumery collection has five different perfumes while an exceptional collection of 15 colognes to splash on draws its inspiration from the garden.

The house’s signature collection of five luxury perfumes, So Scent, are long lasting and are made with ingredients of the highest quality. We liked Calla Luscious, a heady blend of calla lily, vanilla, pepper, pink pepper, musk and jasmine absolute. Another hit was Ashen Orris with its notes of iris, sage, wood, coriander and sandalwood.

But there are other perfumes and colognes to sample as well and in a very special way. With it’s So Scent concept the house has developed a method called Slow Scent in which the customer can take in the cultural and creative dimension of scent-making and discover the products in their own way, slowly, taking one’s time. You can learn about the compositions of the perfumes and make an appointment with the master perfumer, known as a nez or nose in French, Jean-Claude Delville.
