Phlox subulata 'Snowflake' is a cultivar of creeping phlox, a low growing, mat-forming, native evergreen perennial known for its flowers. The 'Snowflake' cultivar is so named for the density of its star-shaped white flowers, which are produced from mid to late spring, and its appearance as a dusting of snow across the otherwise dark green mats of moss-like foliage.

Also commonly referred to as moss phlox, creeping phlox is an excellent ground-cover plant, only growing to 4-6" tall, and works great for edgings and borders. 'Snowflake' also grows well in a wide-variety of soils, provided that it's well-draining.
