The underlying message of this book is about possibilities and possibility thinking It shares my military experiences in three major wars in both the army and navy and my trials and tribulations on the road to becoming a born again christian I want to encourage our American youth to volunteer at least two years of their lives after high school for unselfish service to our country Service with the Peace Corps Habitat Program Americorps or military enlistment will suffice The end goal is the same maturation of our youth and service to our country You owe it to your country This book demonstrates how the patriotic loyal dedicated and heroic participation of Afro Americans in all of our country s wars helped to build this nation I want to bring to your attention and sing the praises of two outstanding organizations alive and well in this great nation of ours Boy Scouts of America a premier character building organization and the Reserve Officers Training Corps ROTC a source of outstanding officers and leaders for our military forces Finally I want to make all readers acutely aware of the presence of God and what part he plays in our lives
