Dit boek brengt eindelijk het gebouwde art-nouveau-erfgoed in de stad Antwerpen in woord n beeld in kaart, degelijk en voor een breed publiek. Het steunt op heel veel archiefonderzoek en plaatsbezoeken en brengt daarom ook veel nieuwe gegevens aan het licht, zeker over diverse bijzondere priv -interieurs die tot nu gesloten bleven. Het verruimt ook de kennis over de Antwerpse art nouveau, die tot nog toe vaak al te veel beperkt bleef tot de Cogels-Osybuurt. De bijdragen van de beide gastauteurs (Dr Mario Baeck en Tom Peeters) vestigen de aandacht op drie belangrijke sierende elementen in de Antwerpse art nouveau: moza eken, tegeltableaus en sgraffiti.
