About the author
When I signed up for my first Ironman, I was in deep water. I was buoyant at best, didn't own a bike, and had only run a 5K race prior. Even more: I wasn't exactly built for endurance sports, having spent my highschool and college days playing offensive line, I had lived much of my life above 300 lbs.
I didn’t know what to do, or where to look for help, but I knew I wanted to complete an Ironman, so I scoured for the best books, but they left me more confused than when I started.
So I decided to take matters into my own hands and write a series of easy-to-use resources for triathlon rookies, like I once was. In each, you'll find no-frills, step-by-step guidance to get you race ready no matter where you're at today.

I'm a very seasoned runner, a mildly seasoned bike commuter, and a complete novice swimmer. This plan is helpful for beginners because it doesn't go deep into intricate programming like specific hills or track workouts which might overwhelm new runners - same for swimming and cycling.
The workbook/journal aspect is also well thought out and useful. Overall, my enthusiasm and motivation is as high as when I registered for my race.
Training plan is legit. Officially start training in a couple weeks and excited to put the pieces together. This guide has been crucial for my prep!

This one I like better, because it has a weekly journaling page — love that I can keep track of my workouts, sweat studies, fuel plans, etc. all in one spot.
