Update: Almost a year later these boots are still in great shape. I've worn them all day and all night, spilled food and drinks on them at work, worked in the garden with them on. They still look good as new and they're easy to clean. My only complaint is the squeaking!! I can be heard walking a mile away. They sound like clown shoes.-----Original review:Beautiful shoe...unil you realize that the soles still have plastic bits that weren't cut off, the stitching isn't classic yellow because it's the Mono line, but the stitch quality is dodgy (messy and overlapping), there's no inspection sticker, just a cheap plastic label that says " dr. Martens,doc's,doc martens" that says it's made in China. Are these real? Have Docs gone down the shitter? Should i get my money back?

This boot looks great and is really very comfortable. This model is made with soft leather which makes it very comfortable, unlike other DocMarten models. It also fits perfectly. I did feel some discomfort on the back of my left foot, close to the ankle, but I imagine the boot will loosen up a little as I wear it. Other than that it feels very comfortable, the sole is pretty thick and soft. The ziper is also very practical, and it looks sturdy so I think it will last for a long time. The laces seem a little shorter than ideal, but that just a detail. I highly recommend this model.

I feel like I finally found my Holy Grail combat boots. I've owned taller Docs in the past that I ended up selling because they just were too heavy and stiff (even after a couple months of breaking in) and honestly a lot of trouble with all the lacing... These shorter profile boots are perfect for my little legs and the leather is buttery soft right out of the box -- to me the trade off in durability vs. comfort is worth it (because as long as you maintain the leather they should still last years and years). Only took a couple days of (all-day) wear for me to feel like they were just right. Make sure you stomp around the house in them a little bit before you take them outside to make sure the fit is right. I typically wear a 37/US W6 and a "Size 6" fits pretty much TTS with just enough wiggle room to wear socks of different weights comfortably. Also: the zipper is a nice touch on this design because it saves so much time lacing/re-tying!

I bought my true size but they were so stiff that I could barely fit into them. (I'm fully aware Dr Martens are hard to break in, but I'm also impatient lol. Plus wide feet didn't help.). I exchanged them for a size up. They were still stiff as a nun in a whorehouse, they made my heels bleed through socks, but they fit better and a couple of tricks helped. Wear a bandaid and thick socks. Lather up a thick layer of some leather conditioner on the outside AND inside of the heel - a lot, you can't go overboard here. Let it sit overnight, in the morning mush and mash them up with your hands. Squish and bend them every which way. Wear the thick socks during the day, at night repeat the leather conditioner, in the morning, mash, etc. Do this for 2-3 days. Mine were broken in by the end of the week. No socks were even needed (not that I would go sockless). They felt like I've have them for years. No discomfort whatsoever. I had wide feet, so I'm glad I sized up (even though they are a tiny smidge too long). I've worn them every single day for the past month now. I'm so glad I bought them, they feel just like all my others.

My very first pair of Docs. I luckily found a picture of the size of someone else's shoes and was able to determine that these are true to European sizes (which I have previously determined was a 38). I did need to buy a heel protector because these slipped up and down on my heels and caused blisters. After that, they're super comfortable and provide amazing support for my pronate ankles. The zipper is perfect for me as I have finger issues that keep me from being able to lace up shoes every day.
I walk 2+ miles every day in these and my feet feel great at the end of the day. Best shoe purchase I've made in a while.

What girl doesn't love a good combat-style boot? These pair phenomenally with jeans & a T or a cute dress and floral black tights. There is the expected break-in period, but it was only about a week of moderate use. This footwear is notoriously hard to size, and I agonized over what size to buy. Order your regular size. I wear them with regular socks, but could wear them with heavy socks if it were ever cold enough here. My toes have room to wiggle & do not feel scrunched. The heels rub, but that may be because I wear orthotics, which lift the feet within the shoe slightly higher than most shoes are designed for. The leather is flexible in all the right places & buttery soft. My feet are exactly 10", I ordered a size 9, and wear arch supports from our chiro (which require maybe an extra 1/2 size when I buy shoes). I hate when people just put that they ordered X size & the shoe fits: it's not helpful, so I hope that helps someone.
