I don't know why I ever stopped using wheat germ two decades ago but I am happy to be back using it again. Kretschmer's Wheat Germ tastes great with yogurt, cereal, smoothies. I had never tried this product before, but my doctor recommended it as a good source of magnesium and folic acid. I wanted to get a bottle as soon as possible, and as I was behind in everything that day, I did not take the time to read the reviews. I was quite surprised at the cost, $18.99(!), but added the bottle to my cart and checked out. Yesterday, my husband came home with another bottle, same brand, Kretschmer's Wheat Germ Honey Crunch, same size, 11 ounces; that's where the "sameness" ended .... price - $4.59!!! .... a major $14.40 difference!

The problem is obviously not the product, but me. I didn't take the time to research the availability and cost from other sellers, but even doing so now, there is nothing much available and the price is about the same. I am learning, slowly, to check the reviews and prices, no matter how much of a hurry I am in.

When I was a little kid, (long before the Honey Crunch style of wheat germ came along) my grandma would always say, "got to have my germ" everyday We laughed and we sprinkled the regular wheat germ on our cereal or porridge for an extra whomp of flavor and texture. Then, along comes this Honey Crunch. I was in love with my first taste. Oh my, the things you can do (besides eating it out of the jar!) I dip dates/prunes/fruit in this, I add it to my oatmeal, and yes, I eat it straight out of the jar! My favorite crunchy treat is toast topped with melted butter and a mixure of this with honey on the toast. There's a million and one things you can do with this. It's a shame, a crying shame it's priced as it is, however, the price has increased by double TWO times in the past few years, ack!
