Not totally Smart
I was under the impression that this was a "smart" grow system and everything could be monitored through your phone with Mars Hydro app. Only the light has "smart" technology. The exhaust fan and temperature/humidity gauge are not.That being said, the system works well and my first time grow is doing fantastic using the old school technology of self monitoring and manual fine tuning the equipment by hand. I didn't even bother to use the Mars Hydro app.The tent is well made, good zipper and no light leaks. The exhaust fan and light are very good quality. The exhaust fan is fairly quiet and there is little to no smell outside the tent. The light is the star in this set up, super good quality and my plants are flourishing under it.Would've been nice if they included an oscillating circulation fan as this is a must have item, which I've seen included in other kits.

I am a 60-year old woman, and although this is not my first indoor garden tent, I found this kit incredibly easy to set up. I had no help, and although I confess there was some salty talk and several cats got yelled at for “helping,” it took me under an hour from unboxing to indoor growing.
The tent is nice and heavyweight, there are adequate ports for cords, and it tucks nicely into the corner of my guest room where it is out of sight. I use zip ties to hang the fan, not the included ropes, and honestly think zip ties are faster and easier. For me the hardest part was wiggling the ducting on to the filter and clamping it. But I got it done (no thanks to my cat).
The fan is very quiet. The light spans the entire width of the tent and most of the depth. I started my plants outdoors in the blazing hot southern sun. So I went straight to 100% light and 18/6 for the timer.
Get this kit if you want to grow a couple of plants—but understand this is just a tool. You need to know what your doing to achieve good results!
