I planted the seeds out doors, in a large pot, on July 2nd and by mid August they looked like this! (California). I'm an avid gardener and have grown Zinnias before but never had ones so vigorous - over 5' tall. It's almost October and still producing loads of blooms. Only problem planting this late was the unseasonably humid weather created lots of mildew on the leaves. I remove the leaves to put the blooms in vases anyway, its just the plant itself that looks a little sad now. Will plant again next year for sure.
