APSU "GOVERNORS OWN" MARCHING BAND!!
The APSU Bands are open to ALL APSU students, regardless of major or full/part time student status. In fact about 70% of our members are not music majors! We perform at all home football and basketball games, exhibitions, and community events. To start your journey and become part of our family, please complete the member interest form or email Mr. Schnettler at schnettlerj@apsu.edu with any questions.
FALL 2024 MARCHING BAND INFORMATION:
We are thrilled to have YOU join us in 2024 for a fantastic marching band experience complete with Pre-Season GOMB Week (Band Camp), full shows with marching, and performances at home football games and exhibitions at marching competitions.
To join GOMB 2024 please complete the following steps!
- Complete the Member Interest Form
- Register for the course
- Mark our Pre-Semester camp dates on your calendar!
Pre-Camp (Guard, Percussion, Leadership): August 13 move-in
GOMB WEEK (winds join for full band camp): August 17 move-in
Once you are moved in, we will have full-day rehearsals through Saturday, August 24.
PLACEMENTS (AUDITIONS) is TBD at this time. Students with High School marching band experience will be accepted into the GOMB. Students who do not have high school band experience should contact us before proceeding.
PERCUSSION – Audition and placement information will be released soon. Please complete the Member Interest Form, and we will be in touch with everyone via email.

MARCHING BAND SCHOLARSHIPS: APSU is proud to offer scholarship for all students who participate in any of our Football or Basketball bands. The amounts are based on participation, with increases each year you return! For specific amounts, please contact Mr. Schnettler or one of our current members.
GOMB Day 2024
We are excited to welcome ALL high school band students to spend a day with us a member of the GOMB! We will rehearse in the morning, eat lunch, and perform in the stands and on the field at an APSU Football Game. In 2019 we ROCKED our home crowd with a band of 700+ members!
GOMB Day 2024 is scheduled for November 23, 2024 from 8am through the end of the football game, around 7pm. Parents & guests can purchase a ticket for a discounted price by using a discount code and link which will be provided at a future date.
Registration will open in the Fall of 2024.

We will not host the MSMI in the Fall of 2024, but we look forward to hosting in 2025 and future years.
