 Description: Colonies grow slightly slow on Potato Dextrose Agar at 25℃, dark brown or olive brown, effuse, reverse black or dark brown, no pigment secreted. Mycelium partly submerged, partly superficial, composed of branched, septate, smooth, hyaline to light brown hyphae, 0.6 - 3.5 μm wide, aerial hyphae funiculus. Conidiophore erected from immersed hyphae, or surface hyphae, solitary, tubular-shaped, straight or curved, slightly tapering toward the apex, with distinct collarate, smooth, brown to light brown, 38 - 46.5 × 3.5 - 4 μm. Conidia enteroblastic, proliferating, hyaline, smooth, obclavate, unicelled, with a inconspicuous truncated at the round end, 14.2 - 16(-18) × 4 - 4.2(-5) μm.

 Note: Chloridium obclaviforme is characterized by producing enteroblastic conidia from a tabulate, elongated, straight or slightly curved integrated, collarate conidiogenous cell. Also the conidia is obclavate, vase-shaped, with a somewhat narrow on pointed tip.
