Excellent keyboard. Not for all gamers though.

Overall: This keyboard has a really solid construction and the key switches feel nice. I opted for the green switches and they are my favorite switches out of any Razer keyboards I have used in the past. The green switches in conjunction with the Razer's signature RGB lighting makes this full-size keyboard a very premium keyboard. Pros: This keyboard has a really solid build. It doesn't feel cheap at all and has weight to it. The carbon fiber looking wrist rest takes this keyboard to a whole 'nother level. Usually, I would skip out on using the wrist rest because it would move around a lot because on other keyboards it isn't physically attached to the keyboard, but this wrist rest is magnetically connected and stays in place very well. It also is synced to the keyboard and has it's own RGB lighting. There are eight mappable macro keys to assign to whatever function you desire. All the keyboard customization (lighting, macros, etc.) is done through Razer's software called Razer Synapse, which is downloaded when you plug in the keyboard. You have three buttons on the left side of the keyboard and five actual macro keys on the left side of the keyboard, underneath the dial. I use these keys for opening up programs and it really comes in handy. Razer also included a command dial that has multiple different functions. Pressing in on the dial changes the function. For example, you can press it to change it to zoom in and out, and then press it again to have a track scrubber. This feature is really handy. There are also media control keys for play/pause, next track, previous track, and mute which is always a welcomed addition to a keyboard. Right above those keys is a volume roller to control volume and the scrolling of it feels really nice and satisfying. Cons: This keyboard isn't for everyone. It is a full-size, meaning it includes the numeric keypad. For me, I don't mind it. But for people who play a lot of competitive games, a TKL is mainly what those people stick to. There is no TKL version of the Blackwidow V4 Pro yet, but hopefully soon. Also, this keyboard is very expensive. At $229 you'd expect a really good, premium keyboard, and that is what you're getting, but majority of people wouldn't want to dish out $229 for a keyboard.

First Mechanical Keyboard - 2 months later

I'll admit that stuff like the RGB and macro keys aren't must haves, but they are nice. I spent a good 30 mins with several different keyboards each in the store and coming from a Corsair K55, the keys on the BlackWidow v4 felt the closest to what I was used to. I almost got a Logitech G815 but I wasn't a fan of the low profile key caps. The price was a bit steep. Personally, I wouldn't say this is worth the full price of $229 (at the time), but luckily I got it on sale during Black Friday month for around $200 after tax. Unless you're willing to pay the Razer tax of course. All in all, solid keyboard. The only issue I really have is I've seen the lighting go haywire sometimes. I'm not sure if I'm fat fingering something or the Razer synapse software is doodoo.

    Worth the price

This is by far the best keyboard I’ve bought. The keys are very responsive and the wrist pad is amazing. The additional buttons really make my PC experience that much better. It is a little pricey but I really feel like I’ve gotten my money’s worth.
