Bruxelles: E. Lyon-Claesen, 1891. First edition. Hardcover. g. Elephant folio. [16]pp (Text), 50 loose plates, as issued. Original illustrated cloth portfolio with string tie. Exquisite collection of 50 tipped-in color lithographs after watercolor painting by Jean Baes depicting Belgium's historic towers and turrets. Age wear on portfolio with spine missing. Boards detached but present. Moderate rubbing along edges. Previous owner's ex-libris on inside of front cover (Arnold Hartmann.) Minor age toning along paper margin. Edges of plates partly brittled (not affecting images.) Text in French. Portfolio in overall poor to fair, interior in good to good+ condition (images in very good condition).
