Remarkable work compiling fifty-four stunning color plates of wild flowers of the Holy Land, drawn and painted after nature. Each illustration is captioned in English, French, German and Latin. All plates with tissue-guard. Spine rebacked. Heavy rubbing with moderate abrasion along edges. Corners bumped and rubbed (not affecting pages). Boards discolored and soiled. Back cover damp stained. Minor age toning along paper margin. Tissue guard of first plate creased and slightly chipped along edges. Text pages missing (Preface and Introduction). Binding in overall poor to fair, interior in good+, plates in very good condition.
