The château and estate has been owned by Maison Louis Jadot since 1996, and is widely recognized for its range of Beaujolais cru wines. Vineyard holdings cover 88 hectares (217 acres) of planted vines spread throughout various Beaujolais crus, including Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent, Fleurie and Chénas. Gamay is the most planted grape variety and makes up the majority of Château des Jacques' wine portfolio. These vines are planted in volcanic granite soils and at harvest, grapes are sorted and destemmed prior to maceration and fermentation. Louis Jadot was the first Burgundy house to purchase a major Beaujolais producer, and has brought many of its Burgundian winemaking techniques to the estate. In the winery, Gamay grapes undergo a long maceration and are fermented with indigenous yeasts, before being barrel matured for 10 months in the château's 17th Century cellar. The percentage of new oak used depends on the quality of the grapes.
