Size: 3.5-5mm

Biology

Status: Widespread and locally common (not recorded from Ireland).
Habitat: Various, mainly damp.
Host plant: Various, mainly young bushes or trees.
Overwintering: Adults rarely survive past September, therefore presumably overwinter as eggs and/or larvae.
Food: Adults on willow & birch leaves (possibly also pollen e.g. of hawthorn), larvae probably on grass roots.
