Nicole Cherie Pierre of Orlando, Florida, finished her race and was ushered into glory on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. She lived to glorify her Creator and honored Him, to her death. She spent her final days surrounded by two families who loved and adored her. Born on December 20, 1993, Nicole was the third of five children given to her parents, Scott McNamara and Debbie Bauman (McNamara).
Spunky and social, Nicole spent much of her childhood in the Chicago suburbs, where she enjoyed the bustle and laughter of a large and loving family. Happy days were spent home-schooling, excelling in gymnastics and enjoying friends. A natural showman, one of Nicole’s greatest childhood joys was found in the Christian Youth Theater program, where she and her siblings participated in over 30 theatrical productions; the most memorable of which was Nicole’s high-altitude, swashbuckling performance as Peter, in the musical Peter Pan.
It was in her teen years that the Lord revealed Himself to Nicole at a church youth camp, giving her the gift of faith and leading her to repentance and salvation, through Jesus Christ. Through the faithful Bible teaching and discipleship of her local church, Nicole’s relationship with Jesus Christ took root, grew, blossomed and became the driving force of her life.
According to God’s perfect providence, it was while working with students at this same youth camp that Nicole met Robert, several years later, and their love story began. As their relationship became more serious, Nicole moved to Florida where she was embraced by a family that she would, one day, call her own. She immediately began volunteering in the student and worship ministries at her local church as she continued her college studies online, eventually earning the degree of Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Liberty University in 2014, graduating with the conferred honor of Magna Cum Laude.
On May 2, 2014, Nicole married Robert Pierre and enthusiastically accepted a new and exciting role. She was a partner to Robert in all areas of life, a student of the Word of God and a spiritual co-laborer, as they served the Lord together in their local church. She sang on the praise team, hosted youth in her home, discipled young women, was a small group leader and women’s Bible study teacher. She enjoyed overseeing the construction of two homes, managing her household, entertaining, laughing with family, reading books about history, antiquing and inter-national travel, visiting 9 different countries. But the greatest joy of her life was motherhood, as she and Robert welcomed their two children into this world: Timothy, in 2018, and Judith, in 2020, and it was God’s gracious blessing to Nicole that He allowed her to witness them both profess Jesus Christ, as their personal Savior.
In October of 2021, Nicole was diagnosed with ALS. During the next 28 months, Nicole’s faith matured and was perfected in her faithful suffering. Throughout an unspeakably difficult journey, Nicole was anchored, steady and secure in the Will of God for her life. She was a living testimony of Christlikeness: content in the sovereign plan of a holy God and trusting in His promises.
She was preceded in death by grandfather John Budesky, and grandmother Lynne McNamara.
She is survived by her husband Robert Pierre, and her beautiful children Timothy and Judith, grandmother Janice Budesky, grandfather Daniel McNamara (Kelly), father Scott McNamara, mother Debbie Bauman (Mark), sister Jackie Kapocius (Scott) and children, sister Danielle Williams (Joey) and children, brother Jeremy McNamara (Leah) and children, brother Michael McNamara (Morgan), along with numerous extended family members, family-in-law and many, many friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida. A visitation is scheduled for 7 o’clock in the evening on Friday, March 1, 2024, at The Grove Bible Chapel, 5835 Citrus Village Boulevard, Winter Garden, Florida.
