Handsome and streamlined in aluminum
This passenger car is part of an impressive aluminum set issued by Lionel in 1991 for the Santa Fe Super Chief. It is a 15' long car with a polished aluminum roof and ribbed aluminum sides. This is a combination car and has a baggage compartment on one end with doors that open and close, and a passenger compartment on the other end. The passenger segment has windows with illuminated silhouettes. In my opinion, this is one of the most handsome passenger sets ever issued by Lionel. It is a truly fine collector's item, and an excellent addition to any O scale layout. However, these cars are long and need wide sweeping curves and plenty of clearance. Finally, Lionel issued add on cars in 1992 and 1995 for a total of seven cars in this series.
