    sony nv-u83 gps

    The Sony nv-u83t gps comes with 4.8" screen. It is bigger than the average screen 3.5" or 4.3". The screen is very colorful and the screen splits whenever you get close to a turn so it allows you time to turn or switch to the correct lane while still viewing your location in the map. I like the 3-D map and the TTS feature. The suction mount is a plus. It is very sticky compared to the other suction mounts of other gps systems. I also like the design of the gps unit. You can easily take it off the mount with a quick press/release button. The design of the power plug is another advantage. It has a plug underneath and on the mount. The touchscreen function works great. I also like the "take me home" function. The gps also has a slot for a Pro duo memory card and a bluetooth function so you ...

    Sony NV-U83

    As a geocacher who is used to Garmin CSX Map 60's, I finally decided to invest in a car GPS. I got the Sony due to the screen size, and it was much cheaper than a Garmin of equal size. The unit works well, and the added screen size is a great feature for an auto GPS. GOOD, the gps system, maps, preloaded POI's all seem to be real good. Route planning and route calculation all work well, I programmed some multiple stop trips into it and it worked great. Also I had read other reviews saying that gps cords. could not be entered as POI's into this unit, that it was Address based POI's, but with the computer software, you can enter gps cords. and send them to the unit via the supplied Sony software. Geocachers know the importance of this, but it can be done. BAD, Not a very good mounting ...

    Sony Nav-u83T

    This Portable GPS Car unit has very easy to use features and adjusts it's large screen to help you stay on track while driving. It adjust the depth of the field to your speed so when you are on the highway, it shows a large amount of space that you are covering while at the same time tightening up the view when you are in a slow speed all automatically. The only real downside is not being able to find an address when the street name isn't the same as what you may have from your destination which makes it hard to get to your end location. Many streets are named different things than you are used to on the GPS map and you can't find their address by typing them in. Overall a great product that is nice to use when looking for new places in your car.

    It's a Sony

    I've always had very good luck with Sony. I owned a TomTom before this and updated to Sony. I love the features, bluetooth works excellent, navigation works good, voice to text is very clear. GPS location is more accurate than the TomTom. This unit would put me at the door, where TomTom might put me half a block away. Sony doesn’t always take you the shortest route. However, the TomTom is much easier to use. You have to update this unit’s map using a CD from Sony. TomTom does it automatically over the net. The program that comes with the Sony is very limited on features and what you can do. TomTom is loaded with services and features you can turn on and off yourself over the net. If you want extreme accurate, go with Sony. If you want simple ease of use, go with TomTom. I have used ...

    Sony NV-U83 Car GPS Receiver

    The Good: The Sony NV-U83T boasts a spacious 4.8-inch touch screen, and you can perform certain operations with the swipe of your finger. The in-car GPS also has text-to-speech functionality, integrated Bluetooth, and 3D views for complicated intersections. The Bad: Satellite acquisition time is erratic and route calculations weren't the most efficient. Planning a trip on the NV-U83T isn't as streamlined as other GPS devices we've tested. The Bottom Line: The Sony NV-U83T is a seemingly attractive in-car GPS with a large display and useful navigation features, but it shows its ugly side with poor directions and subpar performance.
