Georges Van der Straeten(1856-1928) French High quality Dimiuative Bronze Bust
on alabaster 7 7/8" tall x 3.5" wide. Foundry mark as shown, great bronze from
the turn of last century. Estate fresh, I was told by the family that it was
purchased at Tiffany's retail store though that's difficult to prove 120 year
later, the quality is amazing.

Georges Van der Straeten was a sculptor of the Belle Epoque born in Ghent,
Belgium, on December 21, 1856. He studied with the neo-baroque sculptor Jef
Lambeaux (1852-1908). In 1883, at twenty-seven, Van der Straeten moved to Paris.
While living in Paris he became friends with Jean Marie Constantin Joseph "Jan"
van Beers, a fellow painter and son of the romantic poet Jan van Beers. He lived
at 9 Hoche Avenue, Paris. Van der Straeten appeared at his first Paris Salon in
1885 and continued to exhibit until 1912. He won many awards for his work,
including the silver medal at the 1900 World's Fair in Paris and a knight of the
Legion of Honor in 1903.

Your items will be packed professionally with extreme care by me personally. I have been doing this most of my life and am well aware of how these items are damaged and how important they are. I typically use three different types of packaging material inside each box and often double box. Even metal items are treated like fragile glass with several inches of cushion between the item being packed and other items inside the box/the outside of the box. I count on items I ship being dropped, kicked, and abused in every way on their way to their destination. I have custom boxes for every item and know what I'm doing. A high percentage of my orders are international. There will be no issues with damage.

For items where gift wrapping is purchased because I'm not artistic or coordinated my wife will pack gift wrapped items like a present beautifully. Then we put it inside a larger box with 2-3" of appropriate cushion packaging material on all sides.
