Jean E. Nihart, 86, of Anacortes, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Island Hospital. She was born in Aberdeen, Washington on May 13, 1920, the daughter of John and Emma (Mantynen) Korby. Jean attended grade schools and graduated from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen and later attended Grays Harbor Business College in Aberdeen. Upon moving to San Mateo, CA, Jean attended San Mateo Junior College where she received her business degree. Jean was a loving wife and mother, who adored her family and many friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Russell Nihart of Anacortes; sons and daughter-in-law, Mark B. and Miriam Nihart and Kevin E. Nihart; daughter and son-in-law, Korby and Ron Prentice; and grandson, Jeremy Nihart. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the United Methodist Church, 2201 H Ave, in Anacortes. Remembrances may be made to the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital of Seattle, the United Methodist Church of Anacortes or to the American Cancer Society.
