Dennis Brown Funeral, Memorial, and Family Support

Donation protected

It is with great sadness that we share that Dennis Brown passed away suddenly on June 18, 2020.   We've lost a great friend and community supporter, and Beneicka has lost a loving and devoted husband.

Beneicka needs immediate help with funeral expenses, and with the sudden loss of Dennis' income, she also can use help with her near-term living expenses, and her own medical insurance costs (which had been covered by his employment and she now loses).

Beneicka and Dennis have given so much to our town of Healdsburg, and the community of the Raven Performing Arts Theater.  Dennis found fulfillment by volunteering wherever he found a need in his close-knit community of Healdsburg.  Some may remember him roasting peppers at the Farmers Market  or campaigning for city council.

Let's rally together to lighten this load, and do all we can to help Beneicka through a very difficult time.

All donations will go directly to Beneicka Brown.

More about Dennis...

Dennis Brown had a tough life and had a tough death. Abandoned by his mother at 11, kicked around in the system for years, he nevertheless took the high road to adulthood. He went to college to learn X-Ray technician and pursued that career that lead to administrative work in Medical Imaging. That kind of a job brought he and his wife, Beneicka, to Sonoma County and to Healdsburg. Dennis continued his work in his chosen field; Beneicka became a pillar in the workings of the Raven Theater.

Although he worked out of town, Dennis unsuccessfully ran for City Council because he was concerned about the direction that the city was moving toward. He had the energy and ideas to make the town better.

After leaving a job with the state as head of Medical Imaging for the entire California prison system, found it hard to get a comparable job and would not just settle for anything. However, his persistence to excellence cost he and Beneicka economically. By the time of his death June 18, 2020, they had lost life and medical insurance in order to pay other necessary bills. Dennis, who was 66 at death, depended on Medicare for his medical insurance.

And that is the state that Beneicka now finds herself –without insurance or a large  income and pending expenses to bury Dennis, pay his hospital bill, and continue living as she adjusts to her new situation. Thus the need for this Go-Fund-Me request.
