Polycephalomyces tomentosus

Blistum tomentosum is a hyphomyceet that regularly occurs in the winter months on slime molds of the genus Trichia. This parasite looks to the naked eye as a kind of fluff that on closer inspection is made up of lots of small white spores carrying stalks with a white button at each end. Blistum tomentosum is anamorphic of Byssostylbe stilbigera and commonly occurs on slime molds for. Due to its very small size, however, reported few observations.

Appearance

Polycephalomyces tomentosus This is a weird one... little brown balls with white spikes. I've never seen anything like it.
